Perang Pangkor Training 1/2021

LUMUT, May 10 - Although the country is still in a peaceful state, the RMN is always concerned in its readiness to defend the sovereignty of the country's waters to face any eventuality in the event of a threat from external enemies or from irresponsible parties.

The Perang Pangkor Training or previously known as the ‘Pangkor War’ exercise is often held to test the level of ship operation, systems and weapons as well as to improve the skills and competencies of the ship's crew from time to time. Perang Pangkor series 1/21 this time involved 5 ships, namely KD LEKIR, KD GAGAH SAMUDERA, KD LAKSAMANA TAN PUSMAH, KD LAKSAMANA TUN ABDUL JAMIL and KD LAKSAMANA HANG NADIM. As early as 6.00 am, the first ship had embarked on a voyage after receiving a warning of an enemy threat on a nearby island.

Various series of exercises were implemented during this exercise, among them were Night Navigation, Day Navigation, Passage through Minefield Exercise, Anti Air Warfare Exercise and Tactical Maneuver. In addition, Special Ship Boarding training was also carried out at KD LEKIR with the involvement of a search team from PASKAL.

Att the same time, fire and flood drills, namely MKMA, continue to be given serious attention to ensure that the crew is always ready to ensure the safety of the ship and its crew during the voyage at sea.

The spirit of ‘esprit the corps’ instilled in every crew member can also be seen and it can be proud of when the training this time has shown the full involvement of every level regardless of senior officers to lower levels to achieve the objectives outlined.

Overall, Perang Pangkor Training 1/21 has been successfully implemented and has achieved the set objectives. However, continuous training needs to be implemented to increase the level of competence and alertness of Western Fleet personnel at all times. This effort will not stop here and will continue from time to time.
