Malaysia and Singapore Armies Strengthen Relation Amidst Pandemic
KUALA LUMPUR, 4 May 2021 - A virtual discussion via video conference was held between the Malaysian Chief of Army (COA), General Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain and the Singapore Chief of Army, Major General Goh Si Hou at the Army Operations Center, Wisma Pertahanan.
The video conference was held to discuss activities as well as strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries. Among the matters discussed by Tan Sri COA with his counterpart was the implementation of joint exercises as well as interaction programs involving Army troops from both countries.
Such activities are in line with the Fourth Pillar of the 28th COA Order, which is "Strengthening Defence Relations" where it focuses on the aspect of strengthening defence cooperation at the regional and international levels. It continues to be implemented with new norms as the country and the world are facing the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Also present at the session were the Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Dato' Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Army Chief of Staff, Major General Dato' Hj Subari bin Hj Tomo, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Training, Major General Dato' Abdul Aziz bin Ismail and Assistant Chief of Staff Intelligence, Major General Hamzah bin Ali.
