Exercise SHELLDRAKE Proves Readiness of 1 RAD (Para)

NEGERI SEMBILAN: Commander of 10 Brigade (Para), Brig Gen Khairul Azmizal Ahmad Natal and Director of Artillery, Brig Gen Dato' Dr Hj Ibrahim Yasir visited the Exercise SHELLDRAKE Para 1/2021 conducted by the First Royal Artillery Regiment (1 RAD) ( Para) which  began from 22 to 25 Feb 2021.

This visit aims to witness the level of readiness and competence of the unit in terms of roles and tasks and at the same time look at the unit's preparation in facing the Brigade training, namely Exercise Para Predator and Exercise Gerak  Pantas which will take place in mid-2021.

This exercise aims to assess the competency level of the crew operating the 105mm LG1 MK III Artillery armament and subsystem as well as ensure the usability of this armament.

Earlier, 1 RAD (Para) had implemented three series of adaptation courses for armaments that included the operation of cannons and subsystems before conducting firearms training.

As soon as the Commander and Director of Artillery attended the exercise briefing, the program continued with indirect firing exercises at the G26 Cannon Site, live firing at the Bukit Kidney Observer Post and the Quick Action demonstration.

The commander of 10 Bgd (Para) also carried out an inspection and fired the artillery.

The 10 Bgd (Para) Commander emphasizes to each crew to increase their self-competence in performing the role and duties of 1 RAD (Para) to support the 10 Bgd (Para) movement.
